Free tool

A free USD invoice. Printed from the browser.

Most invoice “templates” are a Word file you restyle every time, or a dashboard that rents you a login. Afterdue is a live invoice in this browser. You fill the form. The preview updates. You print it or save a PDF. Nothing is uploaded.

It is built for US freelancers who invoice in dollars and get paid on rails people actually use: Zelle, ACH, Venmo.

What belongs on the page

A freelance invoice is a demand for a specific amount, on a specific date, for named work. If any of those are fuzzy, the follow-up later will be fuzzy too.

The live generator has a field for each of those.

How to use the generator

  1. Open the invoice section. Sample data is already filled so you can see the shape — a studio in Austin billing a bakery in Brooklyn, invoice 1042, 8.25% tax, Net 15.
  2. Replace every field. Your name, their name, the real number, the real dates.
  3. Add or remove line items. Quantity times rate becomes the amount. The tax line and total update as you type.
  4. Write payment instructions the way you actually get paid. A usable shape: Zelle email, ACH on request, Venmo handle, “include the invoice number in the memo.”
  5. Print / Save PDF. In the browser print dialog, choose Save as PDF and US Letter.

Reset sample puts the demo back. Your entries are not sent to Afterdue. Close the tab and they are gone, unless your browser itself keeps a form draft.

Tax, without a lecture

The tax field is a percent of the subtotal. Use it if you collect sales tax on that job. Leave it at zero if you do not. Afterdue is not a tax filing and not a nexus calculator. If you are unsure whether a particular client or state requires you to collect, that is an accountant question, not a template question.

Payment rails that fit on one sheet

US clients pay how they already pay vendors. Put one primary method first.

Afterdue does not process those payments. We do not send the invoice for you. The PDF is yours to attach.

What this is not

Not QuickBooks. Not a reminder robot. Not VAT. Not a guarantee the client will open the email. If you already live in QuickBooks, you can still print from here when you need a clean one-pager, or ignore the generator and only use the chase copy.

When the due date passes and the money has not, the problem is no longer the template. It is the asking. That is how to follow up on a late invoice, and separately how late fees usually work for US freelancers.

The $19 Get Paid Pack is the full sequence, the text-message cuts, deposit invoice wording, the late-fee worksheet, and Net-15 / late-fee / pause clauses. Templates, not legal advice. One payment. Polar handles checkout and tax.
